Zygmunt Bauman

Bauman, Zygmunt

(Poznan, 1925 - Leeds, 2017). He developed an important task teaching in Poland after World War II. In 1968 he was expelled from the University of Warsaw for political reasons; he continued his teaching profession in the universities of Tel-Aviv and Haifa, to become part in 1971 of Leeds University, where he is currently professor emeritus of sociology. In 2010 he was granted the prize Príncipe de Asturias de Comunicación y Humanidades.

For Modernity and the Holocaust (1989) they gave him the Amalfi European Prize; works like Modernity and Ambivalence (1990), Morality, Immorality and other Life Strategies (1992), Globalization: The Human Consequences (1998), Liquid Modernity (2000), The individualized Society (2001), Liquid Love (2003), Liquid Life (2005), Liquid Fear (2006) or Liquid Times. Living in an Age of Uncertainty (2007), among others, are part of his bibliography.
